Thousands Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Nearly 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Impact
Locals reported large ice chunks as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area recorded its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on yesterday, over 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
